The Naval comradeship Archduke Ferdinand Max – German Command – has actively supported the release of a new CD by the Shanty Choir Ostbevern.

Thus, the choir on its new CD is not only accompanied on the drums by the General Plenipotentiary of the Lazarus Union, who is also commander of the German Command of the Naval Comradeship EFM. But some active friends of the German Command are present as well at the accordion and as singer.

For many years, the choir itself has consisted of more than 50 singers and musicians of all ages, with the oldest members already exceeding 90. The choir sings of girls, rum, water, farewell, tears, joy and adventure at sea.

Therefore you can find new songs on the new CD as well as well-known ones like the German texts to the US Naval march “Anchors Aweigh”, “La Paloma”, the famous German Song “Junge, komm bald wieder”, “Bora Bora” and “Lili Marleen”.

However, there are also titles that make you rethinking, for example when it is asked in the German song “Dad, why are you a sailor, Dad I need you so much” or when we sing about the nostalgic time of the Windjammer.

We, the choir, think that there is something for everyone who enjoys maritime music.

The CD costs 14 Euros plus shipping and can be ordered directly from the General Plenipotentiary.
