Peace Cross of the founder of the Lazarus Union

Over and over again we honestly emphasise: The Lazarus Union asks neither for application fees nor for membership fees. The Lazarus Union neither receives any public aid or grant nor has it ever asked for such.

So the Lazarus Union finances its various projects only based on voluntary donations and so depends on the money of the various distinctions which can be acquired by purchase and the fees for distinctions applied for.

Distinctions which cannot be applied for are in general awarded without fees but the persons awarded are free to place a donation to the Lazarus Union AFTER having been awarded. 

We consider this open, honest, and transparent towards all persons receiving a distinction from the Lazarus Union because also a “donation“  for a distinction which can be acquired by purchase is in our eyes worthy of an award!

 

 

On the occasion of the recurrence of the Lazarus Union receiving “Genaral Consultative Status“ from the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) in June 2019, The founder of the the Lazarus Union, Senator Professor h.c. Wolfgang Steinhardt, donates a visual recognition for all persons and institutions actively campaigning for piece in the world, but also in daily life and have acquired merits to theLAZARUS UNION. It is this, after the “Grand Cross of the Lazarus Union”, the highest honour which the Lazarus Union has to assign and accordingly also relatively rarely in the intended three stages is assigned.

The awarding of this distinction is solely under the responsibility of the founder of this award, who also defrays all costs. Therefore this distinction will in principle be awarded WITHOUT any insignia fees or other costs for the honored. The General plenipotentiary confirms the validity of the award  on the certificate.

Of course it would be considered nice and noble if the honoured donates a sum to the Lazarus Union for its peace projects. But this is purely VOLUNTARILY!

Presentation of the award will be in the course of a solemn setting, either during Lazarus union celebrations or those of friendly organisations. From personal handover will be refrained only in severe exceptional cases. There is no legal claim on the awarding of this distinction. Also this distinction cannot be applied for. It is awarded purely upon personal assessment and cannot be bought!

Cross of Peace with Silver Star (Grand Officer)

Cross of Peace with Golden Star (Grand Cross)

Description of the insignia:

This very elaborate and lovingly designed insignia consists of three different individual levels with the star.

The first level is an eight-beam ed “brilliant” star with rays coming from the center. Depending on the level of the award, the star is silver-plated or gold-plated and is the carrier of the actual cross. Its diameter is 80mm. The first stage is without the star.

The second level is an eponyth, dark blue enamelled, white bordered “clover leaf cross” with a diameter of 55 mm, with a 25 mm smooth golden circle in the middle. A “Latin” golden cross is located in the cross arms.

The third level is a finely structured glazed ornamental circle arranged with a recess that accommodates the central medallion.

This central medallion has a diameter of 25 mm and together with the ornamental circle it forms the third level of this insignia. It has a fine, double structured border and between these borders in a circle and green underlays you can read the principles of the LAZARUS UNION in Latin: ” TOLERANTIA + HUMILITAS + CARITAS + MISERICORDIA“. On an area of about 2 cm² the raising of Lazarus by Jesus can be seen. This wonderful, artistically engraved, three-dimensional and with the finest colored addition forms the “eye-catcher” of this insignia. Even the facial features are clearly visible.

All three levels are curved and thus give the impression of special elegance and spaciousness. At all levels there are corresponding miniatures, which represent the respective level in miniature version. (Dimensions: cross 15 mm and star 22 mm in diameter)
