Deutschmeisterkonzert 2014 10

The visitors of the house which was fully booked were to expect quite some aural pleasure.

A memorial concert celebrating the

100. birthday of Horst Winter
125. birthday of Julius Herrmann
150. birthday of Wilhelm Wacek

The welcome and introduction was given to the audience and the guests of honour by the chair of the Hoch- und Deutschmeister, Mr. Ralph Osner. The musical introduction was composed of the Deutschmeister fanfare, the Liebenauer cadet March, Wien-Berlin, and Horst Winter‘s former hit, Little Bear. After a well-needed break, the temperature in the hall was mid-summery hot, melodies by Robert Stolz were played, all hailing the Hoch- und Deutschmeister Regiment.

Both were surprised and honoured, and very pleased to have received these high awards. The ceremony was followed by some encores of the band. There might very well have been more but the temperature was close to that of a Sauna.

All together a wonderful afternoon, very advisable.
