Investiture 2018 of the Knighthood of Honour of the Lazarus Union

Dear Friends and Patrons of the LAZARUS UNION!

Since August 2017 the organisation team led by Rudi Murth and Helene Kneidinger has been planning our next investiture that will take place at the Theresian Military Academy in Wiener Neustadt this time. In the St. Georg’s-Cathedrale the emperor Maximilian I. (the last knight as he is often called) is buried and it is an extraordinary privilege for our Knighthood of Honour to be able to celebrate this investiture ceremony 2018 at this historically important location. At this point special thanks to our Military Bishop Dr. Werner Freistetter and the Commander of the Theresian Military Academy Major General Mag. Karl Pronhagl for the hospitality received.

We have developed a very nice and (unfortunately) long (there will be breaks) festive program (starting with a plaza concert given by our Music Corps) that contains some innovations compared with our last investitures. Among some innovations concerning the ceremony we now have a choir during the gala mess and for the first time many friends of the Voluntary Fire Services will be present and we will create this event and the “Great Military Tattoo” together. Enclosed you will find the invitation and the (preliminary) program.

At this point again many thanks to Major General Pronhagl for arranging the agape after the gala mess and the investiture ceremony in the premises of the Academy.

We only ask one thing of all participants: Generally the LAZARUS UNION does not use donations to arrange its own events but finances them by mobilising funds of its own. For this reason we ask all participants taking part in the agape to support our investiture with a donation to the value of 20 EUR in the form of a “voucher” that has to be shown at the entry (otherwise everything is free of charge).

The highlight of the day will be the world premiere of the “Great Military Tattoo of the LAZARUS UNION” at the castle courtyard of the Academy. At his place the ribbons of friendship will be given to the banners of all participating associations and the “Privileged uniformed Bürgerkorps Wiener Neustadt” will spend the appropriate “local colour” to this ceremony. They are already composing, arranging and rehearsing diligently! In agreement with the mayor of Wiener Neustadt Mag. Klaus Schneeberger and his commitment this event will also be published in the Official Journal of Wiener Neustadt and the people of Wiener Neustadt are warmly invited to take part in.

For every Dame of Honour, every Knight of Honour and all Expectants to the Knighthood of Honour and all members of the CSLI it has to be a personal concern and an affair of heart to take part in this investiture! At least I hope for (and expect it)! Again we expect many guests from abroad and delegations of friendly associations to renew and to strengthen our comradeship and connections.

For planning I would be much obliged to give your commitment (but also cancellation) as soon as possible to the LAZARUS UNION (lazarus-union@chello.at, heading “Investitur 2018”).
